This might be an interesting concept, but wouldn't it require sample manipulation?
So, I'm guessing it'd be a device rather than something in the sample editor.
Perhaps it is possible but it might be complicated to implement...

I meant like as a device like the rasselbock that can manipulate the pitch/pattern and all of that but one that's just for tuning audio samples post-production
and have a notetrack of what you want it to be tuned to?
I get what you mean, it could definitely be super useful in many ways.
It would be cool if there was an autotune plugin where you can select the key and just plug whatever in for it to work
