Here are some suggestions for the app menu bar in the new Next update:
-
Replace the symbols for modifier keys like Shift and Control with the actual words (or abbreviations like Ctrl). The current symbols are Mac based and it took me a bit to realise that the "command" symbol (which I don't have) is meant to be the Ctrl key.
-
Replace Redo's shortcut with Ctrl+Y instead of Ctrl+Shift+Z. It's easier and more standard.
-
Add Cut/Copy/Paste as entries on the Edit menu, above Undo and Redo, with their shortcuts (Ctrl+X, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V) for cases where their shortcuts don't work.

All caps? I think "Ctrl" would look easier on the eyes and take less space for longer menu items.
In the app menu bar, on the Edit menu, the Shortcut for "Redo" is still shown as Ctrl+Shift+Z, although it was changed to Ctrl+Y. In fact, the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Z still works for redoing. Can you just write Ctrl+Y on the edit menu and eliminate Ctrl+Shift+Z from the menu and the keyboard shortcut itself? Why have two shortcuts for just one function? It feels messy and unfinished.
