Couldnt you just download the mp3 file and just convert it?

plenty of reasons

  • sending stems to people working with other daws would be much more convenient
  • working in other daws and uploading to other platforms would be much easier
  • you could also resample loops you made and chop them up, which would be a nice feature

this would be great. I prefer the quality of wav more than mp3.

I can already do this using Audacity by recording the data going to the sound driver of a pc while playing a draft in AT (not sure how this works on mac though). @andremichelle Would there be a way implement a feature that just records a playback of an audiotool draft within the app and produces an uncompressed wav file for users to download without having to publish the full track? I see this being used by people who want to keep most of there stuff private, or even giving sneak peeks to followers on different platforms like SoundCloud/YouTube or to dedicated patrons on Patreon.

I'd love this as well, its always nice to have a lossless copy of your track

yeah dude it should've been there from the start tbh. it's a thing everyone wants, but i also feel like it's something everyone kinda needs. being forced to release a song/stem to the public in order to be able to listen/use it offline/off-computer is so tedious. and the hide option doesn't help.
just a simple export-selection-to-wav button (with no time limit pls) on the track properties page would be so cool. you have export-to-wav in probe, right?

also, bandcamp only accepts wav files so i always have to convert the mp3 files

Another reason this would be useful is publishing cohesively across multiple platforms. Like @djsolace1000 just said bandcamp only accepts .wav files. I put my music up for purchase/download on the Google Play Music and Bandcamp regularly. It's a pain to record a separate file in audacity for each song and then upload them to those platforms before publishing on Audiotool and tryin to convert an mp3 after publishing on Audiotool is just as tedious. :/
