There are multiple ways to manipulate a sample's pitch. You can use the Machiniste's pitch knob, or you can manually stretch the sample in the timeline. The pitch knob is measured in cents (hundredths of semitones if you don't know what those are), so in the example you provided, if an 808 is in C#, and you want it to be F, you would set the pitch knob's value for that sample to +400 cents. It's a bit more tricky in the timeline though, so I would just recommend using the machiniste.
If you want to play several pitches of the same sample in a Machiniste and you don't want to automate the Pitch knob, you can modulate the pitch by creating hits of different values in the sequencer grid, then assigning that modulation and its strength to the Pitch parameter. You can do the same for any other sample parameter in the Machiniste (start and end, filter, pan, volume, etc.)

you can do it in the timeline

Basically, that machine is a sampler, which has been already requested to death. Just search for "sampler" in this board, too many hits to link here.

wow. thanks jordi, I didn't even know that.
