What is it?
- Sample stretching is basically changing the tempo of a sample, for example; You have a drum loop at 120 BPM, but your song is 150 BPM. What happens when you insert the drum loop into your timeline? The pitch of the sample drops significantly. Now, this might be handy is certain situations where you want the sample to be pitched down, but if you don't it can really mess up your workflow. So, how do you fix it? Time Stretching!
How can I use it?
- It's surprisingly simple;
- 1. Drag your preferred sample into your timeline.
- 2. Right click on your sample to bring up the sample editing options
(link is only visible to registered users)
- 3. At the top of the menu, select the Audio Stretching option
- 4. Select 'Time Stretching'
That's it, you're done!
- Much love; STAGEFRIGHT

Keep in mind though, time stretching reduces the quality of the audio because when you stretch it, its more like chopping it up in tiny intervals and just making them farther apart right?
