Specifically the why. Even with the booster and all the other tips i could do the new Audiotool can barely run on my PC.
I dont have the best computer by any means, but i can still run current gen games like Fallout 4 and Everspace with little difficulty. But with new Audiotool I lag while i just try to navigate the workstation. Trying to play even a single synthesizer is hell on my pc, and even if i minimize the window playback is still noticeably staticky and glitchy.
Im actively seeking a processor upgrade. (every time i save up enough something drains my savings. at least i was smart enough to save, right?) Would my crappy old Intel e8400 be the last thing holding me back? And what kind of souped up PC were they testing and developing this on?
I havent found anything as great as Audiotool that's free, so not being able to use it is a major bummer. I wish the old flash version was still available.

For me the flash version was laggier and then when next came out it got a lot of optimizations. I had an AMD A8 5600k and it would lag on flash, but now I can run even without the booster. I've never seen anyone lag with the booster, maybe you have too many things running in the background. You should definitely seek a processor upgrade.

Here's a rundown of your cpu and my old one
Have you gone through every item in this checklist? https://www.audiotool.com/board/newbie/next_first_aid
yeah, that was my first stop when i tried new AT. this week looks promising though, so i may FINALLY get that CPU upgrade. fingers crossed for no financial bullcrap.
