Hi there! I'm Jeanny and I'm an undergraduate student at university. For my Recreation & Leisure class one of my assignments was to participate in a hobby I've never tried before and write a short paper on my experience. I chose creating music electronically. Obviously. For the paper I have to include a section where I ask others why they participated in the activity and what they enjoy about it. I'll need only three people for this.
I'd really appreciate any help I can get. This won't be a crazy interview, just the two questions above. I'll follow the three people who'll help and give credit in my paper! I've got one track in my drafts I'll release after the due date for the assignment, but it's not much lol. Much thanks!!

I joined because i have many hours of past time
and i like making music because i enjoy watching my skills improve
Nice to meet you Jeanny.
I literally woke up one day in my mid-teenage years and thought to myself: "maybe i should start making electronic music to be hip lole" and so it was brought about to fruition. I was already a church pianist by the time I decided to take up music production on a whim so the idea of being an entertainer a la sharing my tunes with the world was no stranger to me and was also a fairly large motivator.
In regards to your second question, one of the more substantial reasons for why I enjoy producing tunes is that music helps me openly convey a particular emotion(s) through all of these little vibrations and as someone who was incredibly introverted in the past, this was invaluable to me.
Fast forward to today, no longer seeking out fame (which was initially a motivator for a teenage me but slowly came to the realization that that shit doesn't matter and was unrealistic to begin with) and only a very small handful of friends listen to my tunes. This is also a major reason why I enjoy doing what I do—as deadmau5 stated in his masterclass and I paraphrase: if only one person gets moved by your music, then that alone is worth it.
(p.s. if you do end up crediting me in your paper, just put me as Micah since no teacher wants to see an addictpunk in an essay lmao.)
When I was young, my mom always had a pretty wide variety of music playing around the house at most times, from boom bap and g-funk to salsa and bachata. I really gained an appreciation for music, and my mom encouraged me to explore that through dance and learning to play different instruments. A year or two ago, I started really getting into hiphop, and decided to try creating beats. I've been doing it since.
Music lets me stretch my creativity and explore possibilities more than anything else, personally. Beyond that, it's really fun to do.
cuz its n my soul
This was really informative, I especially connect with the part about being introverted. It’s something I’ve struggled with too. Thanks so much Micah, this is definitely what I was !ooking for!
Wow, that’s a great variety of music you grew up with! I love Latin music, was raised with it too. Thanks for answering, I’ll put this in my paper!
Anytime fam, glad I could assist.
Ok sorry for my bad jokes. I realized too late how serious this is.
I never wondered why I made music. It was always part of my environment. Since I can think. From my child drumset to today, however, the reasons have changed. As a child I just did it or later in class orchestras and bands of music schools because I had to. Later to express myself somehow and then of course to become famous with it. That it didn't work out today doesn't bother me anymore and I do it to relax from the hard working day and to be in contact with like-minded people.
Haha it’s ok, I didn’t mind the joke! This is good, is it ok to put this in my paper?
Of course
Hey
I started making music because I wanted to know how to create the kind of music that I loved. My answer's a bit shorter than the rest, but I hope it helps.
Oh, and I enjoy the freedom you get when you start out, even if it can be a bit overwhelming.
Hey, I’ve already have the three answers I need but I’m glad for the response! I’ma follow you anyways lol

I started making music because I really loved video game soundtracks, so I wanted to be able to make my own video game sounding music. I later began to work on other genres of music too and here I am now. I also grew up around a lot of music, kind of like https://www.audiotool.com/user/dozy/ . I mostly grew up around Jazz, Hip hop, Old school Hip hop, Funk, R&b, and a few others. I enjoy the very process of making music and the happiness that it brings others. I'll always hope that it brings me fame, it's just how I am, but i'm not hellbent on it and it doesn't really affect me much to be honest. I'm grateful for who I have now and i'll always make tracks, and if I happen to pick up a couple followers or likes here and there, then that's cool too. If I don't then I just don't and i'll move along easily.
I really don't want it to seem like fame is the only reason I make music because that's not true at all
When I was a teenager, I pressed buttons on the computer. It made womps and beeps. Excitedly, I was like "This is the greatest thing ever!" Now I press the button to make womps and beeps, but they're like, womps and beeps with better organization and mixing.
I make music because i want to touch people with my music
Because we'd like to improve the audiotool scene's quality
When I was about 14 I learned how to play the four-chord song on the guitar from youtube, and I was like "holy s*** I'm playing the guitar!" So I learned more chords, and eventually I learned solos or whatnot. Then I learned how to beatbox and made little beatbox-and-guitar loops through an app on my phone.
I'm honestly not %100 sure why I'm still making music, but I think it's because I like the effect or mood that certain music creates and enjoy making my own effects and moods.
