Wanted to make beats with no musical experience and found AT. I didn't even try to follow tutorials or guides on how certain presets work. I lwk just winged it until I reached the point I'm at now. I simply watched and studied other artists and tried to recreate with less experience.

a lot of people
I did most of the same thing. I wanted something more advanced than Chrome Music Lab (even though I wasn't too good at that either.)
I made my account and entered the studio. I had no clue what all these different "devices" did, and I had no experience whatsoever operating any kind of DAW. I had heard the word "sample" thrown around a little bit from videos, so I went to the sample tab and made a song completely from samples. You can still find it if you look up "Rhodes Loop Epic" by NOGESI.
Then from there I just messed around, studied other artists and eventually improved to where I am now.
For the first year it was entirely self taught
Through the third I got help from people and from then on entirely learning on my own again
I already had limited experience from music school and LMMS.
Git gud newbies lol.
And get good you did.
I have
I did a while back on other accounts, but at that point Audiotool was too advanced for me. I found beepbox.co and used that for a while, got good at that, & wanted to move on to something more advanced, leading me back here
beautiful
awesome.

I quite literally just brute forced until i made good sounds and watched a few music theory vids but thats all lol

hey
how do I make music
Experiment. Take criticism. Grow.
I started on this site almost 13 years ago with abeolutely no experience. Its a good gateway to get your feet wet into the music producing pool. Learn as much as you can and be willing to change what you've learned in the past when you find better methods of producing. Also, don't forget to have fun and discover your own identity while creating music.
I started about a week ago. I've already made 6 bangers and honestly I'm really proud of myself, also when I say a week ago that's what it feels like since time is going by fast
I was playing some online car game and I accidentally pressed the magnifying glass button on my school computer and audiotool was there so I clicked it n thats how I found it but then they blocked it after that so I had to get my own computer 🥀
I've also started recently (maybe like actually making music 2 weeks ago), and I'd say I'm not doing too bad
the music theory is so real
yes KING!!
im not a good example to be asking that lmao
Learn basic theory (maybe get an instrument that isn't too difficult to figure out: piano, guitar.. harp?) while you're at it if you can. If you wish to start producing on a computer also try to get the hang of a DAW (just experiment and play around!) but don't think too much about it, even if you're locked in it may take a few months or 1-2 years to "get good". I'm also a beginner
My middle school cs teacher had introduced my class to soundtrap which is what got me into music production in the first place
When I started, all I had in terms of music experience was messing around in some Magix music software, which was a lot more limited and barebones than this. If you've watched Vinesauce Joel mess with EJay, it was akin to that.
That was fun for a bit, but then a few years later, I got into Monstercat, and I was enthralled by all the unique sounds people had, and decided I wanted a piece of that pie. Discovered Audiotool, made some absolutely unlistenable garbage, and now I'm here nearly 11 years later, making slightly more polished garbage, but garbage I can be proud of. At least, when I actually feel like it.
literally me frfr I'm in the middle stage ik what I'm doing I'm just not good and I'm still learning most other things
now that im featured i think it wouldve been cool to talk about how i literally had 0 idea how to make music at all 2019ish, and now im here featured
I'm literally just getting started trying to do EDM, but tbh all of this stuff confuses me lol
I mean, I know what I want to make, how I want it to sound and all, but I just can't seem to actually execute it and turn it into something real.
