What do you do if you run out of ideas? And how do you fix that

try to go minimal and think of a gimmick and repeat that gimmick or try to find easy ideas like making a 1 synth draft or something that requires less work
I then try to limit myself, for example to make a track that consists only of one sound, or only of white noise, or I try a completely new genre in which i have no experience. At the moment I am experimenting with re-sampling.
As a professional artist in the motion graphics industry I get asked from time to time how I go to work every day and continue to find the inspiration to make art every day. well... the answer is: as a professional artist I dont have the luxury of waiting around for inspiration to strike. i have to just jump in head first and trust that inspiration will find me along the way. I do this with my music as well... i just have to start making something whether I have an idea or not.
and a note about inspiration: dont get inspiration from the genre you want to make music for. when you do this, all the music in that genre ends up sounding the same. you should listen to EVERYTHING. hell, you dont even have to get inspiration from MUSIC. you can find inspiration in the way light refracts through water droplets on your windshield as you drive to work. try to imagine what that would sound like and make it happen.
just my 2¢.

get more ideas, obviously
Goddammit the answer was right in front of me.....
Try experimenting - without any goal. Use devices you'd never touch. Browse through presets. Use the randomize function on the Heisenberg.
There's a good chance you find something you want to use in your next track.
Thanks!! :)
I get most ideas from inspiration. Try listening to songs you really like to copy or give your own spin on the part you like the most.

I make a track with an idea I already had and try to make a better track out of that idea. And I do this for years now
i second this, it's how i've recently gotten out of art block honestly
try making a different genre :)
Your tracks only using one sample are genius
That's what I think I will start trying to do....Unless of course I freaking fail like I always do lmao
XD Why are only big producers commenting on this Lmao
Danke!! :)
They really are lmao
Whoohoo! I'm a big producer :P
To me you are :D
