Lots of newer-era Deftones, some Sevendust, The Fragile by NIN as well as the two ambient albums they just released a few days ago, and the new Code Orange album
so basically a mixture of heavy music, pretty music, and weird music :))
I’ve been finally listening to the band Lightning Bolt’s entire discography. They’re a band that’s kinda like “baby’s first noise rock” to some while being the most unappealing sound to others so I’m not sure where people really sit with these guys. It’s just a guy on bass and a guy on drums/vocals (both named Brian) thrashing about in a way that’s half extremely technical and half practically laughable. And none of it feel pretentious in anyway somehow. Just two weirdos making music that sounds at times genius and other times unlistenable. If I were to suggest a song it would be “Dream Genie” for being one of their most digestible but only hated if you played it on “Rock Band 4.”
I’ve also been listening to the albums made by the Soulquarians. This was a pseudo collective of many hip hop, jazz, r&b and soul artists that frequently collaborated together in primarily one space. What you got were albums like Erykah Badu’s album, “Mama Gun”, D’Angelo’s “Voodoo”, The Root’s “Things Fall Apart”, etc. I’ve heard most of these before but not in the context of their release so it’s been cool listening to them back to back and comparing notes while reading up on it.
hell yeah crumb is a beautiful band,
mac miller had a beautiful soul,
frank sinatra, amazing voice and authenticity,
havent listened to prxjek and lil peep in a while.
but hell yeah, thanks for sharing.
this will be a kinda long list, but here i go: Swans, Lightning Bolt, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Have A Nice Life, Animal Collective, The Books, Bon Iver, Sun Kil Moon, Nick Drake, Jacob Collier, Leyland Kirby/The Caretaker, The Microphones/Mount Eerie, Radiohead, Don Caballero, and Low Roar.
i've been listening to a very diverse range of music lately, so a lot of the artists are very different from each other. i included artists that make noise rock and post rock to others that make more folk/indie. so i guess it's something for everyone.
an odd combination of all sorts of artists. robo rob. nokae. a little bit of threesixty. some people from here. a couple odd and more random tracks here and there.
