I'm a perfectionist with my established "brand" on Audiotool and Soundcloud. That's mainly the reason I instantly take down anything I put up on the latter. But now I've moved to a new DAW, and don't really know what to do with this account anymore. I'll definitely keep making music here, and on my dump account Xaotiq, but I don't know if I should even keep the aeotius name, in regards to serious music I make in the new DAW. I'm conflicted because I'm concerned the two styles of music across Soundcloud and here will clash, causing confusion. Should I come up with a new alias? Should I just use my real name (the less cool option)? I really want to stick to aeotius somewhere, but don't know which platform should keep the name. Hopefully this makes sense, and I'd really like your thoughts/advice on the matter.

I really want to comment on this matter, It may not be true in your case but it is globally. The reason why People move away from AT is simply that they don't receive the attention/appreciation they want or deserve. Seeing 100 of followers and getting 10-20 likes on a track is frustrating. But the thing is moving somewhere else will not bring you attention. Nothing will magically change, and your SoundCloud will not blow up. The fact is, you leave AT because it is so " dead " decide to post your music on Sc, but it's the same picture there. A couple or even fewer likes... and it becomes a never-ending story and you find yourself in the trap again. A different DAW will not solve your problem because it is not the real thing you are looking for, let's be honest. You will not become better, Yes I agree that daw's like Ableton are much more powerful, but it does not solve the problem that you're really dealing with - again.
Spamming your track is a NO in this community, but the thing is when you attack someone who spams, you are fighting the consequences, not the source. The actual source of a problem is something that devs have to work on. They have to figure out the right algorithms and a way how true artists here can gain reputation. In this field, there is a big mess and there is really no other way rather than spamming on walls. For example, my last Track - Flummox... I put a lot of creativity and effort into it, it is very original and one of a kind. Will it get attention? No... Will it chart? In my dreams... how can I get attention towards it? No clue.. this site does not offer the way to do it other than spam it on walls. Will I do it? No, never have done it, and never will.
Even the new system where new users that signup automatically follows popular artists in the category they choose is not working properly. There is no follow through... You just get a shit ton of wrecks that will most likely never interact with you and your music, because this algorithm is not intuitive.
There are no up to date tutorials, site guidance, nada. Again that all leads people to spam all over the place,
do they deserve to be thrown in flames for that? No, there is simply no other option for your music to be seen properly.
The thing that I would suggest is to do reverse marketing. Release a snippet of your track on SC and invite people to listen to your work here on AT, because why not?
Analyze which genres you made got the most likes and stick to that genre because that means you're good at it.
How to use the new signup system in your favor? If you see a new user listening to your track, go to his wall, give him a warm welcome, say thanks for listening to
your music, ask him what he enjoyed about it, guide him by saying you can follow me so you don't miss the new releases - again it refers to new users on this site.
There are a lot of other tips and tricks on how to gain the reputation you are looking for!
In short, changing daw's will not solve the true problem you have my friend.
Stay positive, devs are working hard and one day AT will blow SC, I am sure!
I tried to change to Hlecktro, but it was just confusing for people. Just take your name and stick with it.
I appreciate your advice, but this isn't a popularity thing. I moved to a new DAW because of capabilities, not attention. I'm just concerned about a name change for the sake of new people coming along and others who have already been there. I don't want to confuse people by having serious official tracks on soundcloud and fun experimental tracks here. I could care less about followers to be completely honest. I just want to look presentable for the few people who follow me. You know what I mean?

I nevery liked my name on here but changing it wouldnt make sense either. So I descided to take away the vowels. Maybe that could be a way for you too: ts
