It ended up being to big for a board post so here's a link:

Last written update on https://www.audiotool.com/board/newbie/release_log was 10 months ago. And i haven't seen any bug reports being closed in so long. WTF happened?
What's the point of me reporting bugs anymore if nothing is done about them?
i just want to see the bullshit some people spew here
i pooped and farded
yeah that works for me.
I read the entire thin, you have a beautiful way of words Keychain, and I think you are 95% right, im too tired to talk about the remaining 5% rn,, but ill gack to you someday
" just doing on search on the word "cymatics" in the sample browser" so true XD
The more you know
i read the whole thing, all very valid points, devs should consider everything.
and i have been asking for a midi sampler for the longest time, its really annoying escpeccially working with 808s.
THIS AINT SHIT NEW!
Common criticisms (I did not make these up, these are not straw men but things I have actually heard said about my document, mostly from the AT discord)
I wouldn't call the fourth one a counter arguement to your document. Just, a general comment, an opinion, I guess
In the end, it has been 9 months since I have written this, and it is still relevant in my opinion. We are still just being distracted by competitions and there have been 0 substantial updates to add basic features that should be in literally every DAW. I hate the community’s circlejerky tendencies, and I’m tired of hearing excuses as to why there has been 0 progress in improving a DAW that still needs a lot of work in 3 years AND IS STILL ASKING FOR YOUR MONEY ON IT’S PATREON, saying they have “big plans for the future” (last post was in like 2020 lmao) I would not have written this document, if the at next updates never happen, and if they weren’t asking you to pay for 0 progress, while saying they had big plans. I think the funniest aspect is that they don’t even want to at least be more transparent m, to say “oh, we don’t plan on updating/really improving the studio in the foreseeable future”
That just makes my points more valid, because it proves 1. I’m not the only one who thinks this website has those problems
2. These problems have been left unaddressed for too long
But please send a nerd emoji my way
Just say it, I just think it’s disgusting to allow ppl to pay you money, thinking that there will be “big plans” when 3 years later said big plans don’t even have an roadmap of what those plans are, yet the patreon is still up, just say you don’t plan on doing anything on an incomplete DAW already then, we already know that’s the truth
by the looks of it they're trying to fix audiotool on some regards before adding more material. Now I don't know if that's what they've been doing for 3 years (I'm pretty sure it isn't, going from memory) but at least they're doing things now
Does it rly take 3 years to add like an actual built in sample pitch function (not obtained through a horrible sounding workaround), it’s like literally all there. The machiniste can pitch but not time stretch, I don’t think it should take 3 years to add something so basic yet fundamental, especially when they have already written code to pitch samples before, they already have timestrech in some form, I don’t buy that it would be such a big stretch for us to be able to just take form of specific device that is meant for just pitching one same or device
I’m not asking for serum in AT
im going to poop on you
🤓
Lmao
I ain't readin allat 🤣🤣
Then don’t lol
Yeah fair enough I'm not disagreeing
the real joke is that criticism is a needed thing regardless of how it's presented, and no one seems to encourage it enough
audiotool in terms of being a DAW is below standards in some aspects despite having it's own benefits
it deserves more at a fundamental level really, but i guess complacency speaks loudly
let another year pass, with not even a development roadmap, to give us reassurance
in the end of the day, at least you have an opinion
Mix is a step in the right direction, but I still am frustrated because it seems to be another another example of the AT vision seeming to always be looking outward adding things outside the studio rather than inward, because the studio really needs work and is broken some aspects, and it legit just feels as though it has been neglected for years only getting minor improvements. The annoying part is that when you say the studio needs work, people always seem to assume that you want them to put xfer serum in AT, and they go on and on about how your expectations are unrealistically high. All I want is for us to have some basic features, like live projects actually not being cancer, having a normal pitcher that is independent of tempo, and other things
recommendation for audiotol mods, look at other daws and think of "how do i make at better" not "how can i be bigger/ more popular' or "how can i mimic what they have"
at this point you have almost family-like users who just honestly like the daw, and if you cant serve us then you probably cant for other people
fredrik knudson should do a down the rabbit hole video about audiotool at this point
it aint that deep yet
none of what you write makes any sense my friend. mods have nothing to do with the development of the site
pretty obvious i meant devs, but yea sure i mean devs
Hey everyone I understand the frustration about Audiotool's quiet period. And honestly it's deeply appreciated to know you care so much to take time to give all this feadback and I know you mean well. For a couple of reasons I'm going to keep this thread up, but will close the conversation. I'm also deleting the Moderator response, and will briefly summarise it here instead.
While always appreciated, for a small team, criticism delivered in aggressive or harassing way (which is in fact against community guidelines) can become demotivating and unproductive. Instead, objective feedback in the right places of the board or via email to support is much more appreciated and effective. Our community manager passes on bug reports to the team, and feature requests are collated into a document that is reviewed by the team as well.
Also I hope this year saw improvements in communication with community, which will continue to get better.
