Live Draft Ettiquette

Why I am Posting This

So recently, on all my live drafts, people have been coming in and deleting some to every thing in the draft. This has happened on numerous occasions, and when i ask who does it, nobody owns up to it. I have heard that others have heard of or experienced this. I am getting tired of this, so I want to set up some rules to abide to.

Rules

Rule 1

Before making any large edits or changes, please notify the creator or owner of the draft. Some exceptions is if the track is a beat tape or the draft is meant for random stuff.

Rule 2

Just, don't delete any work of others. It is extremely rude. People may be trying to put effort into what they do. If the work is not yours, don't do anything to it.

Rule 3

Please ask others when making any sort of change to their work.

if you're the owner of the draft, you can go to the 'draft history' tab and uncheck the box in the top right that says 'only mine.' it shows the actions of everyone in the draft and you can undo the deletion from there.

until it says the action is not there and you have to delete the history LMAO

I don't do live drafts so I definitely can't understand how someone can literally delete everything like?? you could've created your own track?? before fucking up someone else's?? It has to do with arrogance and to be fair if someone believes they can do better than everyone else in the group they'd be better off doing their own work and "not leveling down to the peasants"

The people that do these kinds of things don't give a fuck about rules

The majority of AT'ers do care, some are unaware.

Sometimes caring people do it for fun.

yeah no one is going to follow these rules, there is always some fuckhead who joins a live draft, and thinks they are an epic 5000 IQ troll, by deleting everything. The fact that you need to make this, shows that the system is flawed in itself. Lets compare live drafts, to say google docs, when you share, you see in google docs, there are 3 roles that a person on the project can have. A viewer, suggestor, and editor. Audiotool seems to have copied two of them, but forgot about the most important one, the suggestor. The suggestor is able to make edits and comments, but needs to be approved by the owner. Its because of the lack of this role, that I am convinced that live is an incomplete feature that was thrown in on a whim.

It's is because of this that I believe, Live's original intention was to be a metaphor for society, made by a clear authoritarian, as a sick joke for all normal people, to demonstrate how a strong leader with an Iron grip on the people, is necessary to restore power in an anarchy. People often missed this very obvious parallel, because they are too busy complaining about how their project has been deleted and replaced with a trap beat, this is meant to symbolize how a leader who is focused on themselves only leave the door wide open for anarchists to take advantage. One day you are complaining about how you cannot find your stash of depraved anime, and bam the anarchists have basically waltzed into your palace while you were getting turned on by cartoon women. As you can see, if you remove the letter V from live, you get lie, this is to meant to symbolize, how in society, people lie in order to get ahead, which can be further seen by the common excuse used by individuals who use live as an excuse to delete the whole project, saying that they are only noobs, who "do not fucking know what an X button does when using a computer". The parallels do not end there, as live demonstrates how people will always seek to tear down everything, an action typically exhibited in our modern world by the mental emo teenagers known as "anarchists"s

honestly this is like whenever your at school and the teachers asks you to write an essay about the symbolism in the trash novel they made you read

2020-06-18 03:54 · 2020-06-18

you know the novel isn't that deep, so instead of actually trying to find symbols, you bullshit and say stuff like this to reach the word count lol

just spam the bookmark feature, imo audiotool needs an option to let you auto-save a bookmark every minute or so
