Just wondering what you guys think.
Is it better to publish longer songs, and post less often, or post shorter songs, and post every few days or so?

I've always done longer songs, but I guess it could be done either way, However, I think you have to consider genres. Techno and trance tend to have longer track lengths to begin with, and as long as you keep the track interesting you can really make it as long as you want. For example, I have unreleased material from other DAWs that exceeds ten minutes, with my longest track being almost 13. Besides, longer song length seems more fitting for a lot of the more progressive stuff that you do (keep in mind that I am by no means advocating 12-minute tracks, because that's complete overkill, and it takes an inordinate amount of time and energy to make a track that long anyway),
Thanks for your response. I tend to get bored with songs if they go past the 7 min mark.
That definately makes sense. Honestly, I try to keep kind of a balance between long tracks and short ones. Then again, I've never had the ability to make a track that's far under five minutes. I can also see how a track longer than seven minutes could get very tedious if you let it be. Besides, it's always good to try new things and gain new skills.
Haha. I might end up turning into a trap kid. I already made one 'trappy' song.
longer ones
are better
good songs better long, bad songs better short
Awesome rule of thumb :D - MMD
short ones are better as long as they're a longer song rather than a shorter one.
What did you mean by this?
shorter songs gets processed faster during upload. at the end of the song, there should be a little tab you have to slide to make the song longer or shorter.
I would take the song, and not to torture yourself, but listen to the full track 4-6 times. Now if it gets annoying or repetitive, summarize it and make it shorter.
