Just go with whatever you like to hear, me for example hip hop, trap type beats influence my style and MAJOR mistake people do is not touching or experimenting with dials or knobs. If you turn a dial to far just turn it back because they can make or break your track. Also dont be afraid to go out of your comfort zone, im used to making lit, happy exciting beats but im trying more soulful R&B with bass etc. Listen to others and you will figure out different technique
