There used to be a site called plug.dj where people would play music and socialise on the internet and someone played their own music and said it was on audiotool, the rest is history
Back when I first started listening to electronic music, my friends and I would go out on joyrides in his friend's Jeep and listen to our favorite dubstep/EDM tunes by surfing YouTube at the time. The reason for this was because he had two 12-in subwoofers and a full sound system in his vehicle that we could really bump on. One day we stumbled upon a track that was made right here on Audiotool (i cant remember the name but i think it was related to a tiger).
We liked the track so much that we checked the description.
We were fortunate enough to find a link to this website, saying that you could make music like this for free. I was so interested in electronic music at the time that when I heard I could start learning how to do it, and for free, I didn't need to be told anything more.
I discovered the tutorials offered by Audiotool (the very same ones you can find today). I was in an airport terminal at the time waiting for a flight back home from another state, and it was very late but I watched all the tutorials in the terminal and was so excited to get started that when I got home at 3:00 a.m. I stayed up all night creating my very first track, which is still visible on my wall :)
could you expound on what you mean by "bullying" real quick?

I really wanted to make music, so I combed the internet for a place to make music. This was the first free one that came up in the search results. Inspirational, am I right?
I actually didn't find it, an old friend of mine did and showed me the site after he made a huge sample track and I made a bet saying that I could make one better than his. that was 12 years ago when this site was still really new and infyuthsion was at the top of the charts for awhile. I've changed my name several times before I settled on the one I have now.
I was searching for free music making platforms online and just found it on google. It may have been in one of those "top 10" articles, but I no longer remember that part.
Well, I was like, 13, and like, I was trynna make music cuz like, I'm famous. so I was using bandlab before this, and before bandlab, I used garage band, and before garage band I was using chrome or something. Then I came across this little space here. My first acount had some pretty good stuff up there but I wanted to start over so nobody could say I was EVER a newbie. I always know what I'm doing.
I knew @descentofficial from Geometry Dash and he told me to try this site out because I wanted to make music to use in levels and stuff
Almost immediately after joining Robtop banned any new artists from using their music in GD, but I stuck around because I enjoyed it
Might as well hook onto this comment since I got mentioned.
Way back my high school used Audiotool as a way to get students making music digitally. It stuck with me ever since then.
I wanted to make music, but I hadn't (got) any money for real ones. So, I had the idea to make music online. I found a site with a virtual piano and a different site with some drums. It wasn't enough. Then, I found FL STUDIO, but it costs. So, I searched google.com over and over again and found this site. I made an account, and here I am. For me, in this moment, it is just a hobby. But in the future will be the second job, maybe? Who knows? Till next time, have fun and stay creative.
*Not so inspirational, right? (also, check this out: https://www.audiotool.com/track/wyz5getqxbh0/ )
I used to use Bandlab and I think when I was looking I signed up here. I joined one year ago however I was using Bandlab but that is now blocked lol. I lost all my music and friends but new site new music
For a long time I wanted to be a producer, but I didnt have a personal laptop. One day my (now boyfriend) started talking about wanting to make music and he was like "oh yeah, At isint blocked on our chromebooks" and i was like "REALLY!???" and i installed it, and were here now. He deleted his acc tho :(
in 2022 when i was 14 i wanted to make music, so i googled free music production sites. audiotool was the first one that popped up. if yall was payin attn to the edm side at the time, then ud remember lithium house, who was my first follower outside friends/fam. now im in the trap side at 16
by sheer luck when i was looking for something to make music with back in 2014, Audiotool does have a steep learning curve due to the modular design but i feel you can do so much with it, it's basically a sound design playground in a way.
