Watch the tutorials.
Look up basic synthesis methods.
Learn a little about music theory (to be honest, I know very little. My knowledge of keys for example is limited to two or three, the rest I look up if I want to use them.
I'd pick a genre and try to discern the elements that make up a standard track of that genre and then begin by creating something with that formula.
Most importantly, have fun.
