before any of you considered making music, what were your music tastes, and do you still take inspiration from them in your music now?

I loved jungle when i heard it in video games and i just like the breaks and the many subgenres dnb has.

It inspires me because there are so many great artists who make bomb ass basslines.

I found inspiration in a lot of ways. My taste in music is ecstatic.
.
When I started i was mostly into Electronic, Pop, a little Rock and Roll, and Orchestral Music (Beethoven, Mozart: for example).
.
Since finding an interest in EDM, I have shifted more to that side for inspiration, starting from Pegboard Nerds and Tristam, among many, many others. Since coming here to Audiotool, I found more help and motivation from the people around me.
.
Surely my music is influenced mostly by the EDM artists--that is not to say the classical pieces do not have any effect on my produce.

my parents raised all my siblings to appreciate music. All 4 of their children have at least played some instrument. I played the cello for a little bit and I loved it but I had to drop it when money became tight and my teacher couldn't teach me anymore because I was switching to a different school. I lost a lot of my love because I ended up being surrounded by people that were using music just to get money, please their peers, etc. I sorta liked singing but I knew I didn't want to get far in it. It wasn't till a year ago I met someone from this site that showed me his music (shoutout to @remix_teen btw) and I thought "this looks cool, I want to try it."
At the beginning I dabbled in trap and mainly samples (it was horrible) but later I realized I like piano music so I began to work more in ambient and calmer-sounding stuff.

I grew up a huge numetal fan, so I was raised around early Deftones, Slipknot, Korn, and Fear Factory (Though they're more industrial metal.) I still take heavy inspiration from Deftones, though nowadays from their more recent shoegazy vibes they got going on

I come from a semi-musical family; my mom used to sing for church choirs, and my dad is an avid aprreciator of music (mostly hip hop, jazz, r&b, and funk). My dad's taste in music definitely rubbed off on me, and that's why I absolutely love hip hop, especially old school hip hop. A decade ago when I was getting more into music that I found on youtube, I began finding great chiptune tracks, video game remixes, and video game OSTs. Some of my favorite songs of all time came from video games, and I keep getting more and more interested until I decided that I wanted to try to make video game music, and so I began on soundtrap. Fast forward to now, and having heard so many varieties of music, I just want to make whatever I feel like making at this point, but i'll never stop trying to make video game music. It's what got me into music creation in the first place!

I used to be a huge fan of electro/EDM/video game music, but over time I guess I discovered dubstep. I don't quite remember how. To be honest, I don't usually take inspiration from the songs that started me off on my journey. Welp.

My family never really encouraged us kids to appreciate music, I sort of discovered it on my own.

Among all my parents' classical records was a record by Wendy Carlos, which I listened to up and down. Also the sound track from the movie Cabaret with Liza Minelly and Beatles, Beatles, Beatles. Everything has certainly influenced me, but fortunately it did not affect my taste

easy all i listened to was S3rl for some reason and Basshunter for some reason and then random slide show truck images with music in the background i really don't explore music which is a backwards thing to say for being a musician and it's weird that i'm making things that sound nothing with what i grew up with fun fact I hate basically every early musical "inspiration" i had
