Just want to see some recommendations for a daw like audiotool. I'm not leaving but audiotool has limitations.
Edit: Please don't say fl studio. I tried it already. The pattern based workflow is so alien to me. I'm used to making note tracks.

Lmms is a free DAW
A lot of former AT artists now use Ableton.
I've heard them say a lot of the keyboard shortcuts and all that jazz are almost the same, so transitioning from AT to Ableton is smooth
A friend of mine keeps trying to get me to move away from Audiotool, (partially because he doesn't see the beauty in it)
But here have been some of his more recent suggestions:
Reason Essentials - It has a similar workflow to Audiotool and the transition might be easier
Sonar Home Studio - "Effectively a $5 daw that only limits you to 64 tracks"
I don’t really like reason, but sonar is something to look at.
I’ve looked into ableton before but it just doesn’t attract me. It just looks boring. :P
to make synths and melodys i use soundtrap
You know what screw this shit. Messing around I found out that audiotool's workflow is better than any daw I'm demoed. I'm just be going to use something like fl to export samples and arrange things here.
