It's a form of art itself which can be applied to just about everything. If you want to be recognized here on audiotool, you need to have creativity in your music. Finding your style is only a piece of the puzzle. It's how you fit the pieces together which gives your music a unique personality.
I don't have creativity
Yes, creativity can be difficult to achieve for some while for others it comes naturally. If you are the one to struggle to find your sound, listen to other users creations. Learn from others either through remixing tracks or chatting with the creator themselves. After some time, you'll learn how to create your own synths and style.
I lack motivation
A technique that works for me is listening to my favorite songs from certain genres. Before I do this, I decide what genre I want to make and then listen to music from that area. A great way of getting ideas out is to make a quick synth and lay out a couple core notes to work around.
Great music on audiotool comes from creativity and effort. If you don't put in the time and effort, you'll end up with scrambled sounds that don't belong together. You get out what you put into it.

Damn.. true words man! My fuel for tracks is mainly inspiration.. sometimes a random sequence of random sounds at a random time can inspire me with either a beat.. or a melody... sometime i get CREATIVE and piddle around with my midi keyboard. The Casio WK-200.. its really a keyboard but with midi features.. or ill do random combinations with keys on the computer keyboard, there i can find a good sounding set or chord and then start my melody from that. All i gotta do is form everything else i need and lay it out how i think it sounds best then its done! And sometimes ill get inspiration from my own tracks and make something else from it... sometimes i make stuff when im bored...
