Hi

I'm your favourite music producer's favourite music producer's favourite music producer's least favourite music producer and the initial topic sucked.

I started something else (the thread with Carrion Haven).

What are some really memorable switch-up moments/breakdowns/super satisfying moments that made a song stick out to you?

I have another, unrelated question: There are tracks that have extremely memorable parts that never get old. What track, what part and why do you feel like it won't ever get old?

For me it's the "GO!" In Korn's "Freak On a Leash" or the earth-shattering kick trio in 1trillionMPH's "firefight"

i have a mental list of these kinds of moments:

"explosive" + generally the whole end section of census designated by jane remover
the ambient section in two way mirror by loathe
the breakdown? at ~2:00 of why not? by lip critic
the morphing transition at 5:30 of psychosis by etterath
the breakdown from rats!rats!rats! by deftones (+that end scream)
"je t'aime the valley, OH!!!!!!!" from i love the valley OH! by xiu xiu
"FEED ME NOWWW..................I STEAL ALL THE OXYGENNN!!!!!" from oxygen by swans
the breakdown at the end of mourning star by means end
getting punched in the face at ~4:30 of fucking butter by gilla band
the crazy section after the second chorus of uncanny long arms by underscores
2:30 of nu nu meta phenomena by machine girl LOLLL

i genuinely feel like there should be a moment like this in every song bc it has such a special way of sticking with you. sometimes i be listening just to get to these parts

Great picks. Oddly enough I don't entirely remember the end scream in rats!(×3). Two others from Deftones I would add are THE absolutely unbelievable deteriorating scream in Hexagram. Or the extraterrestrial whaling in knife prty (by Rodleen Getsic)

I guess. I kinda care, because I'm petty and envious, lmao. That was half the point of this whole topic. Some envy, some boredom, but I mean it would be interesting to see guesses and then see who was right.

here to add my own non-english favorites, coincidently both are old school songs, you have "malaktum fo'ady" i adore the switch up and "foug al nakhel", both are made by the same artist sabah fakhri the goat low key

can i read your contenders normally please? "feed me now i steel all the oxygen"? sir this is a wendys

2025-01-22 16:08 · 2025-01-22

oh new topic
I don't think this really counts as a "breakdown" but the ending section of Avenged Sevenfold's Buried Alive employs my favorite songwriting style, which is when a song progressively gets angrier as it continues

can you please give an English translation? thx

The new topic is simply: There are tracks that have extremely memorable parts that never get old. What track, what part and why do you feel like it won't ever get old?
