Merging automation clips that have ends that are between automation points will create points at the ends of the clip. The resulting shortened segments retain their curve values, when those values should change so that the curve remains the same. The attached images are the result of splitting a 30% curve in half and merging it, and the original 30% curve.

I notice that the correct behavior exists when splitting curves, but not when splitting and merging clips.
