When the timeline grid is active, it shows vertical lines for bars, beats and subdivisions of a beat. As the timeline is resized, more or less subdivisions become visible. Usually the subdivisions follow the smart snap value.
When changing the timeline zoom until the smart snapping value becomes 1/2 (half note) I expect to see half note subdivisions in the timeline grid. Instead there are no half note subdivisions between the bar subdivisions. The grid goes from quarter notes straight to bars.

They're missing in the overview only. An expanded view of an automation or note region shows them as expected.
