I've noticed that if i go to check another tab on chrome, the next app playback gets a bit screwy, its tempo will be all messed up and sometimes it stutters a bit. this happens even when the track is paused too.
Not sure what the issue is,
but it makes creating new tracks really tough for me

Go read Next First Aid to eliminate as many problems as you can.
I got the same problem. I started using booster + incognito mode and it works like a charm.
