Edition Audiotool: JamBam

Total playing time: 1:09:10

To select these ten tracks was hard work for @Jambam So lean back and enjoy.

You can find his complete feature here on Facebook:

Now the mic goes to JamBam himself:

"This was genuinely impossible for me to do as there are too many great tracks on AT. So this list is more about my journey with audiotool and the artists I encountered on the way. From the start to today these guys have helped and motivated me to keep making music.

Special shout out to Arche, Sand, Cripta, Olondro, Syn, Andre, Oedi, Double A, Double O, Chunk, MBelow, Zone, Shakey, Marquis, Daft, rnzr, Akimbo, Poly, Vass, Mad Mike, Yaf?, Potasmic (sorry I've missed out loads of you but there's just too many!) and fellow squelch meister - Roobs :) Guys, you rock!"

TOP 10:

1. Warm Greeting (Nominal Cold Farewell Remix) by @Nominal

"When I first discovered Audiotool I mainly just listened to a lot tracks while staring at the app in total confusion. Then this track was featured, within about ten minutes I was in the app determined to make music."

2. Destroyed Me by @tornsage

"If Nom got me started it was Torn that got me going, the help and encouragement was invaluable and it made me stay on AT. This track is definitely my fave of his - that robot voice, the breaks with the melancholy pads, beautiful. Makes me want to buy the guy a pint and listen to his story."

3. Layered Drift by @Jonjon

"How could I make a top ten list and not have Layered Drift on it? What can I say, I love this track. I listen to it time and again and it never gets old. And if you don't know the story, check JonJon's wall, basically because of this track I am now friends with a bloke called 'Bad tooth'.................seriously I am."

4. REmix II (Ksvbi) by @Tottenhauser

"Ah Tott, you know the guy is so chilled and laid back I'm pretty sure he's a rastafarian, and that mellow attitude is relflected in his music. Hehe na he is the master of dark dnb and to me this is his best, that grimey bass hitting you in waves with the amen on top, class! Plus this is the guy that got me into making dnb, cheers dude you're a legend!"

5. ...and then all this crazy-ass robots appeared by @noraus1

"I have this as my ringtone :) I opened this up had a look and learned tons, so simple and yet the sound design is so good, the beats, those little blips, that base and that title..... totally weird, totally brilliant."

6. A Certain Kind of Bullet by @Niko

"And now we're getting into the 303 side of things! This is the kind of music I love in clubs; hard, melodic and with a gritty acid line going through it. Check out the 303 work at 02:42 , then the drop at 03:30 I'd be going nuts at that bit!"

7. The Simpleton (2014) by @Versus

"A seriously talented dude who was a massive help early on in AT, he even took the time to make me a template explaining compression, truely "la creme de la fromage" ;) And this track, dark, heavy, almost suffocating 303 with that muffled thudding kick.......it's a panic attack in a track, love it."

8. Jalousie by @Flying Baby Seal

"I wish I could make music like this, my god he's good at doing glitched up percs and beats! And when the vocals come in..... yeah. This guy deserves way more faves than he gets, I literally have an album of his stuff on itunes that'll take me a day to listen to, get on his page and get listening!"

9. 3303 by @Inavon

"Again if I'm making a list Inavon has got to be in it. In my opinion he's the best at making trance on AT, his arps and pads are always spot on and then mixing in the 303 - perfect, I'd be very happy bouncing along to this on a beach in Goa!"

10. Broken Projector by @Kepz

"This has got to be in the selection, I loved that almost guitar sound so much I started experimenting with the slope on a high res over synths. I then went on to make two tracks using the stuff I came up with, genuinely inspirational. Also come on it's Kepz, need I say more?"

Underrated Artist: @SSagara

"With an excellent mix of house, electro and trancy elements SSagara really deserves more attention. This track is so catchy it was stuck in my head for days, I had to download it! Also really check out #001 in fact check out all of his tracks! :)"

My best track:

Set Phazers to..... Everything

"It'd be silly to say any different wouldn't it ;) This is the track that got into Moogfest, thank you again guys! It was a labour of love and hate, the notes, pad, bass and progression all fell right into place. The vocoded vocals drove me mad! But I think they turned out ok. Plus this is a true AT track,if it wasn't for all the hints, tips and crit from the community it wouldn't be anywhere near as good, props to you guys! And just cos I'm a cheeky sod I'm going to try and sly another one in The Acid Truth for the sheer love of 303! :)"
