Edition Audiotool: Ollie Jarvis

Total playing time: 0:47:03

This week's Featured Artist @ollie 's great Top 10 album is ready to listen. Check his interview on Facebook as well:

1. Cash Stacks by @erthboy

"When I heard this it blew my mind, the production was/is incredible. For me anyway, this was the first time I had heard somebody use Audiotool for that fast-paced, bright and complex sounding kinda style, which plenty of other artists then try/tried to emulate later on."

2. Re-boot the system by @Tyburn

"I've always been a fan of Tyburn, he has musical golden thumbs, and this proved it. I wouldn't even know what to classify this as, but it's chaotic and it works so well."

3. Teal/Water by @[Hybrid]

"The vibe in this track caught me immediately, the solemn nature of the pad/lead, and the reverb-ey percussion just sets the perfect mood, but it's the progression almost following a 'two steps forward, three steps back' format which kept me listening."

4. Soar by @Won Ton

"As my comment on the actual track says, I still maintain this is my personal favorite ambient track on AT. I don't know how he made that big gliding lead and I don't want to know, just to keep the magic. This has been one of my 'comfort tracks' over the last few years. Just wish I was around when Won Ton was still active."

5. Chirp by @Xavi

"Don't get me wrong, for me and many others (I assume, look at that follower count man) Xav is one of my favorite artists, but the sheer uniqueness of this track makes it memorable. It's all calm, birds chirping, some water fx, then bam, one of the fattest Neuro/Glitch basses I've ever heard. "

6. #FDR002 Hearts by @Tetra

"This is one of those tracks that from the second I pressed play, I just sat motionless in my chair and listened, my mind playing out like a forlorn black and white film. A thinking track, but still a massive favorite."

7. There's always tomorrow by @opaqity

I w"ould just put Opaq's artist page here, he is literally golden, but this track is the standout of mine. He definitely influenced me to start looking for alternative percussion, not just your standard kick-clap/snare-hihat kinda thing."

8. Cars Passin by @swrlly

"Not sure if it's just the key this track is in, or the work with that piano, but something about this track just puts me in a good place."

9. Malice by @Tyburn

"Feel a bit bad for putting the same artist in here twice, but c'mon it's Tyburn. This was the first time I'd heard AT being used for UK-style Dubstep. The vibe Tyburn creates in this is still something I'm trying to emulate."

10. Technicolour by @Akimbo

"Akimbo and I started out on AT at pretty similar times, and I like to think both of our sounds have matured and evolved during that time. This hands down is my fave of his though. The first time I listened my first thought was 'Yup, he's defo going places'"

Artist recommendation: @Jaradodo

11. Nervous by @Jaradodo

"My under-rated artist is Jaradodo for sure, always been a solid presence ever since I stepped into AT. It's always a gamble as to what genre they put out, but it's always a charm to listen."

Own favorite track:

12. I Really Liked You by @ollie

"Even though it's fairly new considering, this is my favorite of mine. It was made pretty shortly after a breakup, hence the name, but sentiment aside it's the first track I've made that I think really sounds like a 'live' organic track."
