First of all, I'd like to thank everybody for entering and spreading the love. I'm just happy that so many people took part, even if I had tons of remixes to listen to!
Without dragging on too much, here are the 10 remixes that I thought really stood out the most, in order. Congratulations to the winners!
Really kept the melodic feel of the original, and added so much more to it. Solid mixing, good technical execution and a seriously diverse track made for a wicked remix.
Solid adaptation of the main theme and melodic elements into a new form. Really nice work on the leads and variations throughout the track; there were just a few spots where the highs and resonance drowned out the mix. Nevertheless, an excellent overall submission.
So different, and I loved that. Really nice (relatively) downtempo stuff. A nice mix of the crunchy bass and the lo-fi type sounds in the drop. Love the middle section, but I wish there was some more low bass in the sub to fill out that second drop, and maybe a reduction in that lead near the end of the section, as it kind of overpowers everything.
Balancing can make or break a track, and this was so, so close to having it. The trap snares are just too loud in some areas, especially in the snare rolls, and it really held this one back. In general, the percussion was too loud, but it's easy to hear how much potential this had. Really great flow throughout the breakdown, build, and drop, and just wicked chord progression work in the drop.
Really different. Loved the atmosphere in the track. The builds felt a bit forced at times, but the rest of the track felt nice and smooth. Some more variation from that single bass note might have livened up the track.
Even if you didn't enter, I'm glad you still published something. Nicely balanced retro style drum fills and nice vocal chops make for a classic progressive house track.
Nice work. Nice highs and lows in the basses, and a balanced mix made this a nice listen. My only criticism is that there are points where the track just sounds a bit too much like a sped up version of the original - I would have loved to see some more variation in the drop.
Some cool stuff. Loved the build and the breakdown, but wish the drop was a little lighter on the compression. Alternatively, not having the kick play as well as the snare on beats 2/4 and using a different snare sample might have kept the flow a little less choppy.
Nice uptempo work. A little messy at times, but the work put into the leads and chords was obvious. Better arrangement may have improved the overall feel of the track, but the melodic elements and percussion combine nicely to make the track interesting.
I listened to every remix! There was no need to spam. If your track is good, people will find it, regardless of whether it charts or not. That being said, this was a really nice adaptation of the original theme. I wish there had been some more of a transition between parts, as it felt choppy at points; however, the execution of the individual parts was nicely done.
This was one of my favorite remix contests that I've seen on AT. I didn't enter, but I think that it really brought out the inspiration for a lot of artists. Every remix that I've heard is awesome.
